Bebelplatz
Bebelplatz, known as the site of the infamous book burning by the Nazis in 1933, is a historically charged cityscape in Berlin, surrounded by architectural masterpieces such as the State Opera House and the Old Library. Today it is also the site of Micha Ullman's impressive "Library" monument, which shows the empty bookshelves beneath the pavement as a silent but powerful testimony to censorship and the destruction of knowledge.
