Czech Republic

The Czech Republic, a country in the heart of Europe, offers a rich history, fascinating architecture and beautiful landscapes.

Prague, the country's capital, is known for its historic old town and impressive sights. Prague Castle, Vladislav Hall, Charles Bridge and Old Town Square are among the city's most famous landmarks. The Jewish Quarter and St. Vitus Cathedral are also definitely worth a visit.

Away from Prague, there are many other interesting cities and regions. Brno, the country's second largest city, offers medieval architecture, modern art and numerous parks. Plzeň is home to the world-famous Pilsner Urquell Brauhaus, the birthplace of Pilsner beer. The town of Český Krumlov is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that enchants with its well-preserved historical center and the picturesque Český Krumlov Castle.

The Czech Republic also has many beautiful natural areas. The Bohemian Forest and the Bohemian Forest Massif offer numerous hiking and cycling trails. Saxon Switzerland in the northeast of the country attracts hikers and climbers with its impressive rocks and breathtaking views. The Krkonošsko National Park is home to the country's highest peak, Snezka, and is a popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts.

Czech cuisine is also well-known and popular. Dishes such as svíčková (marinated roast beef with a creamy sauce), knedlíky (dumplings) and goulash are among the traditional specialties. The Czech Republic is also famous for its beer, which is appreciated worldwide. Pilsner beers and the numerous local breweries offer a unique beer culture.

Whether you want to explore the historic city of Prague, enjoy Czech nature or sample delicious cuisine – the Czech Republic offers something to discover for every visitor.
